Long Term Market Profile (2 mins)
With our latest version of MarketDelta, you can view 150 days of individual profiles. In order to do this you would need to download 1, 5, or 30 minute data for the past 150 days and then have the chart setup to display 150 one day profiles.
We have included an example of a 30 day profile for the mini-ES.
See the attached screenshot of the Download Data toolbar to see how to set-up your data download.

Once you have downloaded the data, it's time to create the 30 day profile. Here are the steps:
1. Open a Market Profile® chart.
2. Double click on the chart to change preferences.
3. Choose the "Profiles" tab. Select your desired settings. The key feature to select is the "Special Profile Duration" and choose from the drop down list. See the video link above for a quick sample of how to do this.

4. Next choose the "Letters" tab. We chose a custom price range of 2.00. See attached screenshot.

5. Select "OK" and view the profile. We included the chart definitions at charthub.com. Here is the link: http://www.charthub.com/images/2007/05/18/MarketProfile__24hr.png

We often get asked how to build longer term CBOT Market Profiles using MarketDelta. The first and most critical thing is you must have the data available to create the Market Profile. Depending on the data feed you are using, the quickest and easiest way to build these profiles is to download 30 minute data for the past 60 days or so. Click the Download button on the main tool bar, choose '30' in the Periodicity menu, and then type in '60' Days Back. Click download and close. NOTE: Depending on the data feed you use to power MarketDelta you may not be able to retrieve this much data. With eSignal and DTN you can.
One way to create these charts and have each letter represent a day (day being defined as regular trading hours 8:30am to 3:15pm CST). For example, each letter can be set to 405 minutes, which would represent the time from 8:30am to 3:15pm Chicago time. Also note “Special Duration” is checked and set to 20 Days. It is set to display 4 Market Profiles ending now. This means that on this chart there will be 4 profiles each consisting of 20 days and they will be “rolling”, so each new day will be added to the current profile and the 20 day will be moved to the previous profile. This in effect will show us the last 80 trading days activity.
